|
Application FormAt your appointment with the Student Service Centre (within 3 days of your arrival) a student advisor will give you the application form and assist you with your application. You need to arrange the following prior to your arrival:Proof of finances (not necessary if you have the MVV)You need to be able to prove that you dispose of sufficient funds to cover your stay in the Netherlands. For Erasmus students this is € 645 (in 2008) per month. For all other students it is € 775 (in 2008) per month. You can prove this via one of the following options:All statements must be recent: no older than 2 months.• Personal financial guarantee An official bank statement in your name from an international (preferably Dutch) bank. The statement must include name and address from the bank and account number with enough money to live on. Internet print-outs are insufficient.
• Statement from a sponsor A personal statement from a sponsor guaranteeing your expenses. The statement must specify the exact amount that will be transferred to you monthly, to which account number and during which period this will be done.
• Payment By transferring the money needed to study here for your exchange period to the bank account of the HKU. Please note: you must transfer the total amount needed for your entire study period. For example: if you are an Erasmus student and you intend to stay for four months, you have to transfer four times € 645 (=€ 2.580). We should receive this no later than 2 weeks prior to your arrival! (See transfer and reference information on this page.)• Grant/ Scholarship If you are to receive a student grant you can send us an original statement of the international organisation that has pledged to support you with a grant . This statement must clearly state your name, the duration and amount of the grant. The grant must be high enough to cover your costs during your period of study at the HKU. We retain the right to evaluate the organisation and the grant.
Payment of VVRThe VVR costs € 433. You can pay this in cash to the Student Service Centre or transfer it to our account before 1 July for the first semester or 1 November for the second semester. MVV receipients have already paid this fee and therefore do not need to transfer it again. (See transfer and reference information on this page.)Proof of Dutch addressYou will need evidence that you have a place to live in The Netherlands. For example your rental agreement or a declaration of the main tenant. After arrival you must register as an inhabitant of the city where you will live. Without this registration you can not apply for a residence permit. For information on accomodation, click here.Copy valid passportPlease make a copy of the pages with your picture, signature and the date of validation. Your passport must be valid for the duration of your stay.Copy MVV stickerIf you have applied for a MVV (entrance visa) you will receive a sticker in your passport from the Dutch embassy in your home country.School statementYou need a statement that you are registered as an exchange student at the Utrecht School of the Arts.
