Rooms available sooner
|
HKU Exchange students renting with SSH can request special compensation to move into their rooms one day earlier (31 August instead of 1 September) so that they don't have to miss any part of the introduction which is on 1 Sept.
There will be no extra costs for this.

Please note• If you do not pay the mediation costs, we reserve the right to cancel your room without reason given. All costs deriving from this will be for your own account.• The Student Service Centre of the HKU only acts as a mediator between the SSH Utrecht, Short Stay department and you. All information about your housing application will be between you and the SSH Utrecht, Short Stay department directly.

Accommodation Exchange Students

General InformationThe campus system doesn't exist in the Netherlands. Students find rooms all over the city in student houses or as tenants. Most students live in a radius of about 20 minutes (by bike) from school. Rents vary between € 400 to € 700 per month.Student housing is scarce in Utrecht. Therefore the Utrecht School of the Arts has made arrangements with SSH, the student housing agency of Utrecht.Please check the reserved accommodation for exchange students located at Kruisstraat and Kanaalstraat.SSH UtrechtThe SSH Utrecht has several student housing buildings with special furnished rooms for international exchange students. These rooms are located in Utrecht. The SSH charges a €175 mediation fee. You must pay this fee before 1 August (first semester) or January 1 (second semester) to the Student Service Centre (SSC) of the Utrecht School of the Arts and we will process your application. To apply, you need to register at www.shortstaysolutions.nl as a guest of the Utrecht School of the Arts and follow the instructions on the site. You can register for the:
• first semester as of 1 June and after approval start looking as of 1 July.
• second semester as of 1 November and after approval start looking as of 1 December. In order for us to mediate for you in finding an accommodation, you need to agree with the conditions of intermediary services as stated on the shortstaysolutions website.
